Ushuaia Council debates zoning for national lands
In Ushuaia, the City Council is debating modifications to the zoning of various plots, including areas along the shores of Bahía Golondrina. The discussions center on lands owned by the national government located within the city's urban limits.
Councilwoman Marjorette Saldías of La Libertad Avanza has cautioned against imposing new restrictions that could hinder the city's development. She argued that while existing regulations protect sensitive areas like the coastline, adding further constraints without an integrated vision could prevent the future use of land for essential housing, infrastructure, and services. Saldías emphasized the distinction between land ownership and land use, noting that the current proceedings concern urban planning regimes rather than changing property titles.
