Ushuaia expands vocational and digital training for women
The Municipality of Ushuaia has expanded its support for women through vocational training and digital inclusion initiatives. Under the ‘Mujeres en Marcha’ program, 105 women recently received certificates for completing training in various trades, including professional driving licenses, boiler installation and maintenance, dry construction, interior painting, and hospitality services such as barista and event services.
Mayor Walter Vuoto emphasized the importance of providing women with tools for labor insertion, particularly during economic crises. The program has reached approximately 300 women since late 2024. New training opportunities are currently underway for welders, with upcoming courses in upholstery planned.
Additionally, a new Digital Meeting Space has been opened at the Casa de la Mujer. This facility features eight workstations equipped with computers and internet access, designed to facilitate digital training, work development, and professional accompaniment for local women.
