Ushuaia names new community ambassadors

As part of the 142nd anniversary of Ushuaia, the municipality has announced Fernanda Gaillard and Victor Vargas as the city’s new ambassadors. The selection was conducted via social media and focused on individuals with significant community roles.

Gaillard serves as the director of the Centro de Actividades Alternativas para Personas con Discapacidad (CAAD), where she works to promote inclusion and integral development through art and sports for people with disabilities. Vargas is a Yagan writer, researcher, and artisan dedicated to preserving and teaching the history and cultural heritage of his community.

The new ambassadors were presented to the public during the traditional Cena de Antiguos Pobladores. They will represent the city in the October 12 parade and in all official protocol activities throughout the year.
