Ushuaia officials reaffirm support for Bolivian community on independence day

On the 201st anniversary of Bolivia's independence, Omar Becerra, secretary of Relations and Political Articulation for the municipality of Ushuaia, Argentina, attended a commemorative ceremony. He described the day as an opportunity to strengthen ties with the Bolivian community that has helped shape Ushuaia's history.

Becerra recalled that a year earlier Mayor Walter Vuoto approved the construction of a plaza dedicated to the Bolivian community, and condemned recent remarks by an influencer that criticized the plaza’s name. He pledged that the municipal government will continue to accompany the Bolivian community, emphasizing inclusion, unity and the city’s commitment to welcome Bolivian residents. "Vamos a continuar acompañando a la comunidad boliviana," he said.
