Argentina tourism and real estate sectors report mixed developments

Various regional developments and economic trends are impacting the Argentine tourism and real estate sectors. In Ushuaia, the winter season saw high occupancy rates, particularly in four and five-star hotels, bolstered by new direct flights from Brazil. However, José Recchia, president of the Tierra del Fuego Hotel and Gastronomy Chamber, warned of a significant drop in profitability—up to 35% in some cases—due to rising operational costs such as energy, wages, and supplies outstripping revenue.

In Resistencia, Chaco, Governor Leandro Zderoy met with investors to formalize a project for a new five-star Wyndham hotel. The development will feature 98 rooms and is designed as an ‘Art Hotel’ to reflect the city’s cultural identity. The project is expected to take approximately 24 months to complete.

Other notable developments include the reopening of the Rosario Fluvial Terminal following a major renovation, and a US$7 million high-end real estate project in Rosario called Carrasco M, involving footballers Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María.
