Community organizations launch solidarity drives across Latin America and Spain

Various community organizations and local authorities across Latin America and Spain are launching solidarity campaigns and advocacy efforts to support vulnerable populations.

In Argentina, Cáritas San Juan is collecting cleaning supplies, hygiene products, and bedding for families in Pocito. In Ushuaia, the organization Hablemos de Autismo is gathering toys and sensory items for a specialized Children's Day celebration for children with autism. Additionally, a community initiative in Buenos Aires has distributed 2,250 toys collected through a local drive.

In Chile, the Los Ríos Intersectoral Autism Table reported a near doubling of autism diagnoses in 2025 compared to 2021, prompting calls to improve services for adults. In Spain, the movement ‘Di sí al autismo’ in Nigrán is demanding better public resources for education, health, and employment for autistic individuals.

In Colombia, the Fundación La Niña María is collecting essential supplies like diapers and clothing for newborns and mothers in Santa Marta. Meanwhile, in Mexico, the Institute of Women in Delicias and Cáritas are running a permanent clothing drive for vulnerable women, and merchants in Purísima del Rincón have donated over 11,000 school supplies to support students in need. In Dosquebradas, Colombia, approximately 4,700 essential items were delivered to families displaced by an earthquake.
