Initial cancellations of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix after the conflict erupted on 28 January left the championship short of its contractual minimum of 22 races. The series is now considering emergency measures such as a double‑header in Singapore or a second race in Baku to meet the required race count and avoid hefty penalties.

Logistical challenges prevent a quick shift to Turkey, whose Istanbul Park circuit requires substantial upgrades that lack guaranteed funding. European options, including Portimão and Imola, are also deemed unfeasible for the remainder of the year. The Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort has been set as the deadline for a final calendar decision, while the season‑ending events in Qatar and Abu Dhabi remain in doubt. The disruption extends to Formula 2 and Formula 3, which share the same logistics and are likewise in limbo.
