Usman Nurmagomedov rejects $2 million PFL contract offer
PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov has revealed that he turned down a $2 million contract offer from the Professional Fighters League. Currently a free agent, Nurmagomedov stated that negotiations are ongoing but he is seeking a higher figure than the previous offer.
Following the expiration of his contract, Nurmagomedov is subject to a 90-day exclusive negotiating period with the PFL. Once this period concludes, he will be able to pursue opportunities with other promotions, most notably the UFC.
Nurmagomedov, who holds a 22-0, 1 NC record, has also been vocal regarding the talent level of the UFC's lightweight division. He criticized several top-ranked UFC fighters, including Paddy Pimblett, Michael Chandler, and Ilia Topuria, suggesting that the perceived gap between his current competition and the UFC's top tier is overstated.
