USMNT defeats Mexico 3-0 as Cavan Sullivan sets scoring record

The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) defeated Mexico 3-0 in an international friendly held in Glendale, Arizona. Cavan Sullivan set a record as the youngest goal scorer in USMNT history after capitalizing on a goalkeeper error in the 62nd minute.

Julian Hall opened the scoring in the 28th minute following a rebound from a Mexico goalkeeper mistake, and Malik Tillman added a third goal in the 84th minute. The victory provides momentum for head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s squad as they continue their post-World Cup cycle.

The USMNT is scheduled to face Canada next on October 6 at Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While the Americans look to build on their recent success, Canada enters the match in a rebuilding phase under coach Jesse Marsch, navigating several roster absences due to injury and tactical experimentation.
