USO launches campaign for Spanish union elections

The Spanish trade union USO has launched a campaign titled “Sé el cambio, tú decides” (Be the change, you decide) to encourage workers to run as candidates in upcoming union elections. The organization is seeking to strengthen its representation across various sectors, administrations, and companies throughout Spain.

USO currently maintains over 150,000 members and 13,500 delegates. The union has set a strategic goal to reach 15,000 union representatives by the end of 2028. The organization emphasizes its independence through self-financing via membership fees and highlights its “Caja de Resistencia y Solidaridad” as a support tool for members during strikes or dismissals.

As legal representatives of workers, elected delegates gain access to company data regarding production, sales, and staffing, allowing them to participate in collective bargaining and monitor workplace safety, equality, and health standards.
