USPS to issue 11th Kwanzaa stamp

The United States Postal Service (USPS) will release its 11th Kwanzaa stamp, continuing a tradition that began in 1997. The stamp celebrates the pan-African holiday observed annually from December 26 to January 1.

The 2026 design features a father and daughter, marking a departure from previous family-oriented depictions. The artwork, created by Cannaday Chapman and art directed by Antonio Alcalá, incorporates the symbols of the gift (zawadi) and the unity cup (kikombe cha umoja). The color palette has been updated to lime green, pink, and yellow, offering a new take on the traditional black, red, and green.

A first-day-of-issue event will be held on Wednesday, September 23, at the Association for the Study of African American Life and History 111th annual conference in Norfolk, Virginia. The stamp will be issued as a Forever stamp.
