USPS whistleblower warns of flawed mail ballot systems

A whistleblower within the U.S. Postal Service has issued a warning regarding the agency’s development of new IT systems intended to restrict mail ballot delivery for the upcoming November election. According to a 20-page complaint released by the office of Senator Richard Blumenthal, the systems have been rushed through testing and are considered unreliable, potentially preventing millions of Americans from receiving their ballots.

The whistleblower describes the implementation process as “secretive, rushed, chaotic, and fundamentally flawed.” The complaint alleges that the development of this election mail ballot IT system has been so problematic that some Postal Service officials have referred to it as “a shit show.”

Senator Blumenthal has characterized these efforts as a deliberate attempt to suppress the vote. He described the situation as a “designed malfunction” intended to depress voter turnout. While a court order has temporarily frozen the Postal Service's plans, Blumenthal has requested an explanation from the agency regarding these alarming developments.
