USR ministers deny rumors of Romanian Government resignation

Ministers from the USR party have denied rumors regarding the imminent resignation of the Romanian Government. Representatives from USR stated that reports suggesting a mass resignation are false and emphasized that they and their state secretaries remain at work to ensure the country does not stall during the current crisis.

Government spokesperson Ioana Dogioiu also dismissed rumors concerning the potential resignation of interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, labeling the claims as ‘fake news’. The rumors had suggested that Bolojan might condition his resignation on the departure of all PNL and USR ministers to force the President to nominate a new prime minister.

In a separate development, the PNL and USR parties have signed a parliamentary collaboration agreement and are calling for an end to online voting in the Chamber of Deputies.
