USS Stout completes port visit in Agadir, Morocco

The USS Stout (DDG 55), an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, completed a scheduled port visit to Agadir, Morocco, on October 13, 2026. The visit, which began on October 11, served to strengthen defense and security ties between the United States and Morocco.

Captain Kevin Taylor, the ship's commanding officer, noted that the stop highlighted Morocco’s role in regional maritime security. During the visit, the crew engaged with the local community and explored Moroccan cultural heritage. The deployment of the USS Stout is part of the U.S. Navy's Sixth Fleet operations, which cover Europe and Africa.

The visit underscores a long-standing bilateral relationship between the two nations, rooted in a 1786 treaty of friendship. This partnership focuses on regional stability, maritime security, and coordinated defense efforts in the Atlantic and Mediterranean regions.
