USS Thomas Hudner returns to Mayport after nine-month deployment
The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Thomas Hudner returned to Naval Station Mayport, Florida, on August 9, following a nearly nine-month deployment. The ship, carrying approximately 300 sailors, operated across the U.S. 4th, 5th, and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.
During its deployment, the vessel participated in several major operations. In the Caribbean, the ship was part of a naval presence involved in the blockade of Venezuela. Following this, the destroyer was redeployed to the Middle East to support Operation Epic Fury, where it utilized Tomahawk land attack missiles against targets in Iran. The ship also operated in the Red Sea and the eastern Mediterranean before completing its mission and returning to its home port.
