U.T. Khader emphasizes linguistic pride as a bridge for unity
South Kannada District Minister U.T. Khader addressed the 71st Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations at Nehru Maidan in Mangaluru. He stated that linguistic pride should act as a bridge that connects people through love and trust, rather than a force that alienates speakers of other languages.
Khader highlighted the rich 2,000-year history and literary heritage of the Kannada language, noting its status as a classical language recognized by the Government of India. He emphasized that the language and its cultural values, inspired by figures such as Basavanna, Akka Mahadevi, and Kuvempu, promote universal humanism and transcend boundaries of caste, religion, and gender.
