UT San Juan students develop blood donation platform

Students from the Universidad Tecnológica de San Juan del Río (UT San Juan) have developed ‘Latido Rojo’, a digital platform designed to streamline the blood donation process at the Hospital General de San Juan del Río.

The platform utilizes WhatsApp to allow donors to register and schedule appointments, aiming to make the process more efficient and accessible. It also automates administrative tasks and generates digital receipts. UT San Juan Rector Fernando Ferrusca noted that the project applies classroom knowledge to address a real-world community need, while Health Secretary Martina Pérez Rendón highlighted the value of using technology to serve public health.
