UTA and Corvinul draw after VAR disallows goal

UTA Arad and Corvinul played to a draw at the Francisc Neuman Arena. The match was marked by significant pre-game entertainment and intense fan displays. Singer Lidia Buble performed a concert before kickoff, including the UTA anthem, ‘De la Dunăre la Sena’, as part of the Arad city days celebrations.

During the match, ultra supporters performed a pyrotechnic display in red and blue that was intense enough to cause referee Istvan Kovacs to temporarily halt play.

A major turning point occurred in the 68th minute when Benga scored for UTA. However, after an eight-minute VAR review, the goal was disallowed due to a decision regarding an offside position involving Abdallah. The match ended in a stalemate, with both teams taking one point.
