UTA Arad players Alexi Pitu and Răzvan Oaidă suffer season-ending ACL injuries
UTA Arad has confirmed that players Alexi Pitu and Răzvan Oaidă have suffered serious knee injuries, specifically anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) ruptures. Both players are expected to undergo surgery and will face an estimated recovery period of approximately nine months, effectively ending their current seasons.
Alexi Pitu, 24, sustained the injury to his left knee during a match against Rapid. Răzvan Oaidă, 28, suffered a right knee injury during training. Club official Alexandru Meszar noted that these losses significantly impact the squad, particularly in the defensive midfield position, and indicated that the club will seek new players to fill these roles.
Additionally, 18-year-old Andrei Tolcea is expected to be sidelined for about 30 days following a grade 1 meniscus tear, though he is expected to recover through physiotherapy without the need for surgery.
