UTA joins cast of upcoming Osaka-set drama Akato Elegi

New cast members have been announced for the upcoming Japanese drama “Akato Elegi,” a youth romantic comedy set in Osaka based on the manga by Takashi Kira. The series stars Kurosaki Koyo and Narumi Yui. UTA, who gained attention in the Netflix series “Gas Ningen,” will make his commercial television debut playing Yusaku Yaima, a mysterious missing person and former lover of the character Chiko.

Additional cast members include Mari Hamada as Satoshi’s mother, Sarina Suzuki as Chiko’s mother, and Yuichi Kimura as a senior coworker. The drama is scheduled to begin broadcasting on TV Tokyo on October 8, with Disney Plus Star providing exclusive streaming services in Japan and Asia starting October 9.

Promotional materials, including the main visual and a teaser trailer, have been released, showcasing the realistic atmosphere of the characters' daily lives in Osaka.
