Utah and BYU athletes achieve success in NFL and college football

University of Utah and BYU athletes are seeing significant success in both professional and collegiate football. In the NFL, former Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week following a dominant performance for the Carolina Panthers, where he recorded nine tackles, two interceptions, a sack, and a pick-six.

In college football, ESPN has recognized transfer players from both Utah and BYU on its sleeper all-transfer team. BYU offensive lineman Paki Finau, a transfer from Washington, was highlighted for his role in the Cougars' high-ranking run-blocking performance.

Additionally, the University of Utah football team concluded its nonconference schedule with a 33-0 shutout victory over Utah State, moving into Big 12 Conference play with a 3-0 record.
