Utah Coach Morgan Scalley discusses Colorado matchup

University of Utah head football coach Morgan Scalley addressed the media during his weekly press conference, focusing on the upcoming matchup against the Colorado Buffaloes. A central point of discussion was the reunion with former Utah quarterback Isaac Wilson, who now plays for Colorado.

Scalley praised Wilson’s intelligence and arm talent, noting his previous experience as a scout team quarterback at Utah. However, Scalley downplayed the significance of the familiarity, suggesting that the personal connection should not overshadow the actual gameplay. He noted that while players like Wilson and cornerback Jason Stokes Jr. understand Utah’s terminology, the focus remains on the competition.

Additionally, Scalley highlighted recent athletic successes at the university, including the inclusion of seven current or former Utes on the U.S. Ski Team rosters. He also provided updates on other programs, noting the men's golf team hosting the Big 12 Match Play Tournament and the volleyball team's position in the Big 12 standings ahead of a game against BYU.
