Utah Jazz eye deepest roster ever while targeting top pick Darryn Peterson

The Utah Jazz are close to assembling what could become the most talented lineup in franchise history. New acquisitions such as Jaren Jackson Jr., Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler, Keyonte George and rookie Ace Bailey add depth across the frontcourt and backcourt.

Ahead of the NBA Draft, the team is expected to select Kansas guard Darryn Peterson with the No. 2 overall pick. Jazz insider Sarah Todd noted that while the club usually eases rookies into the lineup, "they had Ace [Bailey] come along slowly too... I think that Darryn might be in a different ballpark," suggesting he could start on day one and reshape the starting guard rotation.

If Peterson joins, the projected starting five would feature Jaren Jackson Jr., Walker Kessler, Lauri Markkanen, Ace Bailey and the newcomer, with Keyonte George moving to a bench role. The combination of seasoned players and high‑draft talent positions Utah for a potentially unprecedented season.
