Utah Jazz focus on young talent for 2026-2027 season

The Utah Jazz are entering the 2026-2027 season with a focus on developing young talent following a four-year rebuilding period. President of basketball operations Austin Ainge expressed gratitude to fans for maintaining 374 consecutive sellouts during the transition.

Key players highlighted include the duo of Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr., as well as sophomore player Ace Bailey. Following an All-Rookie Second Team performance last season, the Jazz front office has set a specific developmental goal for Bailey: improving his defensive impact. Ainge noted that while Bailey is recognized for his offensive tools, the organization wants to leverage his size and mobility to transform him into a more effective two-way player.
