Utah Mammoth prospect Caleb Desnoyers injured at World Junior Summer Showcase

Nineteen‑year‑old Caleb Desnoyers, the Utah Mammoth’s top prospect and the fourth‑overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, suffered a lower‑body injury during the Canada‑versus‑USA game at the World Junior Summer Showcase. He was knocked down by a falling Team USA player, identified as Wyatt Cullen, and left the match with apparent leg/knee damage. Canada’s head coach Misha Donskov said there was no medical update at the time.

Desnoyers entered the tournament after posting 78 points in 45 QMJHL games for the Moncton Wildcats, plus a strong playoff performance and a previous season in which he earned league MVP honors. The injury could affect his chance to compete for a roster spot at Utah’s upcoming training camp, with the team considering options such as an AHL assignment or a return to junior play if recovery is prolonged.
