Utah Mammoth secure first playoff berth in Salt Lake City

The Utah Mammoth completed a successful 2025-26 season, finishing with a 43-33-6 record to secure the first wild card spot in the Western Conference. Their playoff run ended in the first round after a six-game series against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The team’s offensive strength was driven by a core inherited from the Arizona Coyotes, including Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz, Dylan Guenther, and Logan Cooley. While the roster has seen aggressive acquisitions under owner Ryan Smith, some moves, such as the JJ Peterka trade, have been viewed as missteps.

In the American Hockey League, the Mammoth’s affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners, finished with a 34-28-10 record, placing seventh in the Pacific Division and missing the playoffs.
