Utah State linebacker Harrison Taggart was transported by ambulance to University of Utah Hospital following a serious injury during a game against No. 17 Utah on Saturday.

The injury occurred in the second quarter when Taggart, the team’s leading tackler, attempted to tackle Utah running back Daniel Bray. During the play, the side of Taggart’s head struck Bray’s knee, causing his body to go limp.

Utah State officials confirmed that Taggart is currently in concussion protocol and is being treated for a neck injury. During the medical response, players from both teams knelt on the field as the team captain was loaded onto a stretcher.
