Utah State University study links higher education to community well-being
A study by the Utah Women & Leadership Project at Utah State University suggests that higher education provides benefits beyond economic prosperity. According to the 2025 statewide survey, increased educational attainment is linked to greater confidence in navigating complex institutions and a broader awareness of social issues.
The research indicates that higher levels of education are associated with improved understanding of topics such as sexual assault, domestic violence, financial stability, health, and homelessness. The study notes that as awareness of family and children’s issues grows, individuals are more likely to support policies promoting safety, stability, and opportunity. These patterns were observed among both men and women.
