UTALT students win international science trophy in Brazil

Students from the Universidad Tecnológica de Altamira (UTALT) in Tamaulipas, Mexico, have won the International Scientific Talent trophy at the Brazilian Scientific Initiation Fair (FEBIC 2026). Mechatronics engineering students Víctor Eduardo Acosta Villalón and Luis Jerónimo Loera Moreno received the award at the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil.

The winning project, named SEONIA, utilizes artificial intelligence to support the educational inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In addition to the trophy, the project earned international accreditation to participate in the MILSET Expo-Sciences Brasil 2027, providing further opportunities for the university's technological research and development.
