UTAMED Universidad and Fundación Unicaja launch second edition of MEM scholarships with 124 awards

UTAMED Universidad and the Fundación Unicaja have opened the second edition of their MEM scholarship programme, offering 124 fully‑funded places for online university degrees, master’s programmes and, for the first time, official vocational‑training courses. The scholarships cover 100 % of tuition for the first year and can be renewed if the recipient maintains an average grade of 8.5 or higher. Applications are accepted from 1 to 21 August, and candidates must submit a video or audio explaining their personal story and motivations.

The programme is funded with more than €300 000 and aims to democratise access to higher education. UTAMED president Paco Ávila said the initiative “complements and democratises access to knowledge”, while Fundación Unicaja director Sergio Corral highlighted education as “the most effective way to a fairer society”. The award ceremony will be held on 3 September at the Fundación Unicaja Cultural Centre in Málaga, with journalist Toñi Moreno presenting the credentials.
