UTEPDA Director supervises agroforestry projects in Bahoruco and Independencia
Nidio Encarnación, the executive director of the Technical Executing Unit for Agroforestry Development Projects (UTEPDA), has completed his first supervisory visit to agroforestry projects in the provinces of Bahoruco and Independencia.
The visit included meetings with administrative and technical teams to assess work progress, resource needs, and the condition of field equipment and machinery. These projects primarily impact the Sierra de Neiba region, focusing on reforestation, watershed recovery, natural resource protection, and support for agroforestry producers.
In Independencia, UTEPDA is currently working on the improvement of the El Maniel-Juan Santiago road to facilitate regional commerce. In Bahoruco, the institution continues road improvement efforts and recently participated in an event led by Vice President Raquel Peña, where 165 property titles were delivered to project beneficiaries in Galván. UTEPDA currently operates projects in Azua, San Juan, Elías Piña, Barahona, Bahoruco, and Independencia.
