Utica lane restrictions on North Genesee Street extended
Lane restrictions on North Genesee Street in Utica have been extended due to ongoing utility work. While the New York State Department of Transportation originally planned for the restrictions to end on October 10, the work between North Genesee Street and Harbor Lock Road is now scheduled to continue through October 16.
These delays are part of a larger $62 million infrastructure project announced by Governor Kathy Hochul. The project aims to revamp the area with upgrades including modern lighting, fresh landscaping, improved drainage, and enhanced signage. Redesigned business access points are also intended to streamline traffic flow and improve safety. Drivers are advised to follow posted detour routes and reduce speeds when traveling through the construction zone.
