Utility companies in Oruro and Sevilla propose fee adjustments
The Municipal Cleaning Company of Oruro (EMAO) has proposed a temporary increase of Bs 5.20 in cleaning fees for all users, including residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. The increase is intended to last for six months to address rising operational costs, specifically citing the impact of increased diesel prices on service continuity. EMAO's monthly expenses have risen from approximately Bs 2.21 million to Bs 2.56 million. The proposal is currently under review by the Municipal Council.
In Spain, Emasesa has announced plans for its 2027 tariff structure. While supply and sanitation rates will largely remain stable, the local improvement fee is expected to rise by 2%. This minor adjustment means a typical household consuming ten cubic meters per month would see a monthly increase of approximately five cents. To fund planned infrastructure works and network renewals, the company intends to utilize bank financing and has extended the execution timeline for its 2024-2027 plan into 2028.
