Utility developments in Paraguay and Nicaragua involve debt recovery and electrification

In Paraguay, the National Electricity Administration (ANDE) concluded a savings campaign that regularized over USD 123 million in debt. The initiative allowed 107,626 families to formalize overdue payments through financing plans, while approximately 419,000 customers opted for cash payments to avoid late fees. The campaign also facilitated technical updates, including ownership changes and modifications to electrical loads or connections.

In Nicaragua, the National Electric Transmission Company (ENATREL) and local municipalities inaugurated rural electrification projects in 22 communities. With an investment exceeding 86 million córdobas, the project involved constructing 54.25 kilometers of distribution networks, providing electricity to 1,985 homes. Additionally, a public lighting restoration plan saw the repair of 12,794 LED luminaires across 425 neighborhoods in July, with goals to reach 700,000 families by the end of 2026.
