Utility fine in Argentina and oil theft trial in Cuba

In Argentina, the Alto Verde Electric Cooperative addressed a fine issued by the Provincial Electricity Regulatory Entity (EPRE) following quality evaluations. President José “Pipo” Álvarez clarified that the fine amounted to $832,691, disputing reports of much higher figures. The penalty stems from voltage drops affecting service quality. Approximately 100 users in the affected sector will receive refunds of roughly $4,000 each, while six irrigation well users will receive approximately $40,000 due to higher consumption levels.

In Cuba, a trial was held in Baraguá, Ciego de Ávila, regarding the theft of 236 liters of dielectric oil from the Mártires del 9 de abril Agricultural Production Cooperative. The theft, which occurred while a custodian was absent from their duties, resulted in power outages for 12 homes and disrupted the cooperative's productive activities. The legal proceedings focused on the custodian's failure to preserve assets under their protection.
