Utility service concerns reported in Rawson and La Plata regions
In Rawson, Axel Roberts, head of the Eléctrica de Rawson Sanitary Service, has warned of potential water pressure drops starting November 1. This is due to seasonal increases in demand and historical low water levels in rivers and reservoirs. While recent rains have improved water capture prospects, Roberts noted that production cannot exceed current design limits. Areas most affected include high-density sectors and those far from distribution centers, specifically areas 12, 13, 16, and the southern zone of Playa Unión.
In the La Plata region, the Regional Development Advisory Council has expressed deep concern regarding electricity service deficiencies provided by Edelap. The Council stated that these failures are seriously affecting the regional population and economic activities, including commerce, industry, and construction. The Council, representing over 50 public and private institutions, has sent formal requests for urgent intervention to the Buenos Aires Provincial Minister of Infrastructure, the Mayor of La Plata, and local public works officials.
