Criminal activity reported across various Latin American regions
Various criminal incidents have been reported across Latin America, ranging from violent robberies to sophisticated fraud.
In Bolivia, a man was arrested in Cochabamba for impersonating an official from the National Electricity Company (ENDE) and other state entities to scam victims of more than Bs 100,000 by offering fraudulent job positions.
In Argentina, several thefts occurred: a woman in La Banda was robbed of her purse by motorcyclists; a commercial shop in El Bolsón was broken into by a violent intruder; and a man in Puerto Esperanza was caught stealing from a shop while consuming a beer. Additionally, a cell phone store in a city center was targeted by thieves who smashed a window with a brick.
In Ecuador, an armed robbery in Tumbaco left a 33-year-old man wounded after thieves on a motorcycle intercepted him to steal USD 4,000 intended for alimony payments.
In Uruguay, a 31-year-old man received a sentence of six months of probation for attempting to steal cables in Maldonado.
In Mexico, three men were caught in Luján de Cuyo performing an illegal electrical connection to the power grid.
