UTLA implements new salary scales with LAUSD

The United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) is implementing a new salary scale as part of the 2025-2027 agreement with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The contract includes a multi-phase transformation of the pay scale designed to provide significant raises at every level.

Under Phase 1, effective July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, members will receive a 4% retroactive pay increase, which is scheduled to appear on September 5 paychecks. Phase 2, effective July 1, 2026, will involve a second increase where most members will receive a 5% raise. The district aims to have all members appropriately placed on the final salary tables by June 30, 2027.
