UTMB athletes achieve milestones in Chamonix races

Frédéric Tranchand won the 12th edition of the OCC, a 60-kilometer trail race with 3,500 meters of positive elevation, connecting Orsières, Switzerland, to Chamonix, France. Tranchand finished with a time of 5 hours, 10 minutes, and 8 seconds, becoming the third Frenchman to win the event. He finished ahead of Kenya's Nashon Kiplimo and Spain's Miguel Benitez.

In a separate feat during the UTMB events, Pierre Cabon completed the MCC, a 40-kilometer course with 2,350 meters of elevation, using a wheelchair. Cabon, a 36-year-old paraplegic who was injured during the November 13 attacks at the Bataclan in Paris, was supported by a team of runners who pulled a specially designed wheelchair to help him reach the finish line in Chamonix.
