UTMB Mont-Blanc begins 23rd edition of trail running week

The 23rd edition of the UTMB Mont-Blanc has commenced, marking the start of a week of trail running events in the Mont Blanc valleys. The week began with the departures of the PTL and MCC races, while the TDS is scheduled to start later in the evening.

The PTL features 125 teams of two or three runners covering approximately 300 km with 25,000 meters of positive elevation gain. Notably, South African athlete Travis Warwick-Oliver is participating as the first amputee to compete in the PTL.

In the MCC race, 22-year-old Noémie Lepoutre secured victory in the women's category, while Gatien Airiau led the men's top five. The event emphasizes exploration and performance within the mountain environment.
