The Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN) Regional Faculty of Villa María has officially announced the addition of an Industrial Engineering degree to its academic offerings. The program is scheduled to begin instruction in 2027.

The initiative is the result of a collaborative financing and organizational model involving the UTN, the Municipality of Villa María, and the local industrial sector. This mixed funding scheme aims to address regional demands for technical training in process optimization, planning, and innovation to drive economic development.

During the official presentation, Villa María Mayor Eduardo Accastello emphasized that the goal is to increase qualified employment and strengthen the city's status as a university hub. UTN Rector Rubén Soro noted that the expansion is a significant achievement for the institution despite the current complex budgetary and social challenges facing public universities in Argentina.
