Utorg Secures EU MiCA License as Crypto Industry Faces July 2026 Deadline
Utorg, a crypto wallet and card platform, received full authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto‑Assets (MiCA) regulation, effective 1 July 2026. The licence enables Utorg to operate across all 29 EEA member states, covering a market of over 450 million people, and requires the firm to meet strict consumer‑protection, transparency and AML/KYC standards. Co‑founder Eugene Petrakov said the company built its product to be “safe by design” and that the approval positions Utorg among the few platforms cleared for the post‑transitional period.
Separately, Bybit launched its crypto‑backed Bybit Card in Peru. The virtual card, available with no annual fee, lets Peruvian users spend balances in US dollars or soles and offers up to 10 % cashback and a 120 USDT welcome bundle for new cardholders who verify their identity and top up at least 100 USDT. Bybit’s Country Manager for Spanish‑speaking Latin America, Patricio Mesri, highlighted the card’s aim to bridge digital assets and everyday payments in the region.
