Utrecht launches initiative to clean city center graffiti

Centrummanagement Utrecht has launched a collaborative initiative with the Municipality of Utrecht and Graffiti-ex to address graffiti and illegal posters in the city center. The program aims to maintain a clean and attractive urban environment for residents, workers, and shoppers.

Under this arrangement, reports of graffiti or illegal posters can be submitted via the municipality’s customer contact center or the ‘Zo Gemeld’ app. The municipality then coordinates with Graffiti-ex for rapid removal. Quick action is emphasized to prevent further vandalism in the same locations.

Funding for these maintenance activities is provided through the annual contributions of entrepreneurs and property owners to the Ondernemersfonds Utrecht. To ensure efficiency and prevent duplicate work, property owners with existing private agreements with Graffiti-ex are encouraged to register them with Centrummanagement Utrecht.
