Utrecht mourning procession commemorates Palestinian children

Approximately 500 people participated in a mourning procession through Utrecht on Sunday to commemorate more than 21,630 Palestinian children killed since October 7, 2023.

Participants dressed in black carried a large white cloth, measuring 36 meters long and 6 meters wide, designed to symbolize a shroud. The cloth displayed the names of the deceased children. Protesters also carried signs highlighting the destruction of schools and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of children.

The procession concluded at Domplein, where speakers addressed the crowd and a Syrian musician performed. The event included a call for participation in a future demonstration in Amsterdam scheduled for November 8.
