Cultural festivals and heritage events held across Belgium and the Netherlands

Various cultural and community events are taking place across the Netherlands and Belgium, highlighted by the Open Monumentendag (Open Heritage Day) and local festivals.

In the Netherlands, Open Monumentendag features diverse activities, including historical exhibitions in IJsselmonde, tours of churches in Boxtel and Liempde, and the presentation of maritime heritage in Edam-Volendam. Other local events include a community market in Dubbeldam, a neighborhood day in Alphen aan den Rijn, and a film night in Houten.

In Belgium, the Reiefestival in Bruges attracted 11,000 visitors to its second edition, showcasing art along the city's canals. In Deurne, a new highway underpass will serve as a temporary cultural stage for the Wondering street theater festival. Additionally, the care farm De Kanteling in Herzele is celebrating its tenth anniversary with an open day and the inauguration of a new equestrian arena.
