UTSA volleyball defeats University of the Incarnate Word in five-set thriller

UTSA volleyball secured a 3-2 victory over the University of the Incarnate Word in their home opener at the Convocation Center in San Antonio. The match was a competitive five-set battle where the teams alternated sets.

UTSA took the first, third, and fifth sets with scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 15-8, respectively. Freshman transfer Sydney Bryant contributed significantly with blocks and kills, while junior setter Megan Hawkins provided an ace to help secure the first set. Despite a strong offensive start by the Cardinals in the second set that led to a 10-point lead for Incarnate Word, UTSA managed to recover in the subsequent sets to claim the win.
