Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launches second phase of School Chalo campaign
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the second phase of the state’s "School Chalo" campaign will begin on 1 July and run until 15 July. The programme aims to ensure full enrollment of children from class 1 to 12 in government schools and to bring back students who have dropped out.
The chief minister stressed education as the greatest asset for life, urging teachers to inspire attendance and parents to support school participation. The initiative includes measures such as hot, nutritious meals in schools, early‑childhood "Bal Vatika" centres for children aged three to six, and special focus on girl students under existing schemes. It also references ongoing modernization projects like "Mission Prerna" and "Mission Nipun" to improve school infrastructure and learning outcomes.
The campaign calls on citizens to help identify out‑of‑school children and ensure they reach a classroom, framing the effort as a collective responsibility for the state’s future.
