Uttar Pradesh CM orders strict oversight of schools following student protests

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a strict stance following student protests regarding mismanagement and deficiencies in various educational institutions across districts including Lucknow, Azamgarh, Mahoba, Hamirpur, and Unnao. The protests highlighted issues such as teacher shortages, poor administrative oversight, and inadequate facilities like water and food.

To address these concerns, the Chief Minister's Office has appointed nodal officers to monitor educational institutions under the departments of basic and secondary education, higher education, technical and vocational education, social welfare, and labor. Officials will be held accountable for any negligence found during these inspections.

Specific concerns were raised regarding delays in teacher deployments in Sarvodaya schools, despite the new academic session beginning on April 1. Chief Secretary SP Goyal has instructed divisional commissioners and district magistrates to monitor social media for school-related complaints and ensure swift, factual resolutions to prevent the spread of misinformation.
