Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath attacks Akhilesh Yadav over alleged 7,000‑crore spend
During the National Handloom Day ceremony in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav. Yogi accused Yadav of perpetuating "brother‑nephew" politics and claimed that the former chief minister had spent roughly 7,000 crore rupees on a "cosmetic facial" to polish his image. He mocked Yadav’s daily routine, saying, "some people remain children their whole lives and Babua does the same," and linked the alleged extravagance to past law‑and‑order problems in the state.
Akhilesh Yadav responded on the social platform X, alleging that Yogi was misusing taxpayer money and diverting public funds. The event also featured the presentation of state‑level handloom awards, distribution of checks to beneficiaries of handloom development schemes, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding with major handloom producers.
