CM Yogi Adityanath grants citizenship to displaced families in Pilibhit

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a gathering in Pilibhit, announcing that families who migrated from Bangladesh 55‑56 years ago and faced persecution have now received Indian citizenship certificates. He said the certificates ensure they cannot be removed from the country and marked the move as a historic decision under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

During the same event the chief minister inaugurated development projects worth over ₹569 crore across the Pilibhit district, covering more than 60 schemes related to infrastructure, health, tourism and defence manufacturing. He criticised the Congress and Samajwadi Party for earlier neglect of displaced families and claimed that their past policies led to the partition of the country. Adityanath also highlighted that the state currently has no curfew or riots and is advancing defence corridors and missile production.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister Jitin Prasad and other senior officials, who joined the launch of the projects and the distribution of citizenship documents.
